This forum is a place for anyone affected by a neurological condition to share experiences, discuss issues and support each other.  People with neurological conditions, family members, friends, carers – all are welcome to join, as long as they are over the age of 18.

Our aim is to provide and maintain a safe, mutually supportive community, so we have a few simple rules that users agree to follow:

Treat other members with the respect they deserve – no abusing fellow forum members. No threats or harassment of other users will be tolerated. Any instance of abusive, threatening or harassing behaviour is grounds for deletion from the forum.

The forum language is English only.

Please do not spam. The definition of spam is an irrelevant or advertising post. Any post considered spam will be removed.

Please post in relevant sub-forums only. Messages posted in the wrong topic area will be removed and placed in the correct sub-forum by moderators.

Please do not post messages text in all CAPITALS since this is considered to be shouting and is not necessary.

Please avoid posting images larger than 800×600. This is considerate to members with slow internet speeds, and keeps the forum looking tidy.

Using red text is forbidden. Only moderators and administrators may use this.

Please do not post inappropriate material – if you would not feel comfortable viewing it at work, or in front of children or parents, don’t post it. Please be considerate in the language you use on the forum –  swearing is not completely banned, just do not swear unnecessarily and only use minor words.

No hacking, and illegal activity, such as torrents and illegal downloads, this will not be tolerated, and if appropriate, may be reported. No re-posting of copyrighted materials or other illegal content is allowed. Any posts containing illegal content or copyrighted materials will be deleted.

You must be over the age of 18 to register with this forum.

Anyone can view the content of the forum but you must register with us if you want to post a message or comment.  The Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire Neurological Alliance will not publish or provide your personal details to anyone.

Our forum is checked by our moderators on a regular basis. Although we do not review posts before they appear on the forum, we reserve the right to remove or edit posts if necessary.  This ensures that our forum remains a safe and supportive online environment.

Anyone who does not adhere to our guidelines will receive a formal warning via email.  If, after this warning, the forum user continues to breach the guidelines, their account will be deactivated and they will be banned from the forum. The decision of the moderators is final.

The opinions expressed by this online community are purely the views of its members and do not reflect the views and opinions of the Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire Neurological Alliance.  Although the Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire Neurological Alliance reserves the right to remove any postings from this forum at its discretion, this reservation creates no affirmative duty in the Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire Neurological Alliance, and failure to exercise this power shall not subject the Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire Neurological Alliance to any liability of any sort.

We reserve the right to modify these rules from time to time without notice.
