We can help.
We are TVDNY. We work across the Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire helping people who live or care for someone with a neurological condition.
A neurological condition is a health disorder involving the brain and nervous system.
‘Over 35,000 people have a neurological condition across our region’
Neurological conditions are caused by damage to the nervous system, made up of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscle tissue. They can affect anyone, at any time and include: multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, dementia, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, Huntingdon’s disease and acquired brain injury. There are many others and they affect people in a variety of ways.
At TVDNY we can signpost you to information, help you access statutory and independent services and provide resources to help you manage the condition.
Our response to COVID-19
Neuro Key have been sifting through guidelines and information on Covid-19 support systems to ensure people have what they need. We are constantly gathering examples of where the system is failing people living with neurological disabilities and placing their carer’s at risk, to report to Cabinet Office and DEFRA via the regional stakeholder disability network.

What people tell us
“I had nearly 2 years of trying and failing to get some help from the benefits office to survive financially with paying bills and living. I was ready to give up, as all the stress from trying to find help was affecting my Multiple Sclerosis. I contacted Neuro Key that helps people with every aspect of getting the help people need with a neurological condition. Jo helped with keeping focused on what I had to do, ringing website contacts and countless interviews with social workers, benefits people etc. When Jo came to the PIP Tribunal with me and I won my appeal, it was emotional because I was so used to getting nowhere and feared not being able to live properly. I think the work Neuro Key do is so important to helping people who need that support. I would recommend Neuro Key 100%”
“From a Primary School Teacher’s perspective your FASD case studies are very interesting. In a system that depends on quite black and white assessments – A child can/cannot do this – it is frustrating because there is a presumption that because they were able to do it once that means there isn’t a problem. If there were clear assessment criteria that were on a sliding scale, this may be helpful. The case studies are really useful as exemplars of behaviours and variations to look out for. A lack of knowledge about FASD in the school community will continue to pose a barrier for parents for a few reasons: they will have to explain the condition to every new teacher; there won’t be any funding to support the child’s needs; the behaviours and variations can be easily diagnosed as something else or masked by another condition such as ADHD”.
